| Otherwise known as “Unsolicited
Commercial Email”, it’s the advertising junk mail
you get and don’t want.
It ranges from the irrelevant - people in America offering
you a mortgage - to the pornographic - increasingly bizarre
ways to increase the size of your marital prospects.
How much spam you get seems to depend on how long you have
been using the Internet with the same email address, and how
cautious you have been in the past about revealing your address.
I was surprised to find that I had had to delete 412 items
in 7 days.
How do they get my name ?
The spammers buy and sell lists of email addresses. They also
send mail to easily predictable addresses like sales@yourdomain.co.uk
just to see if it works.
